The head of Epidemiology with the Panama Ministry of Health, Leonardo Labrador, reports that cases of malaria in the country are increased during the beginning of 2021.
According to Labrador, 1,506 malaria cases have been reported through the end of May with the East Panama Region reporting the most cases (888), followed by the Guna Yala region with 344 and Darien with 193 cases.
