The Department of Health-Central Visayas (DOH Region 7) in the Philippines are reporting a dramatic decrease in dengue fever cases during the first half of 2021.
Region wide, 976 total cases, including seven deaths have been reported through July 17. This compares with 9,449 cases and 39 deaths recorded during the same period last year (more than 89 percent decrease).
In Cebu City, 113 dengue cases have been reported, compared to 1288 last year, or a more than 91 percent decrease.
